Częstochowa 2011 12th European Deaf Table Tennis Championship

Location

Częstochowa is a city with 250,000 inhabitants and is famous in Europe and worldwide for its monastery, Jasna Góra, which is a catholic centre of pilgrimages (with 4,000,000 pilgrims visiting the place).

 

This academic city is located to the south of Poland, nearly 200 km from its capital, Warsaw. Airports: Katowice Pyrzowice (70 km), Kraków (140 km), Warsaw (220 km). It is situated at DK- 1 (a motorway from Cieszyn in the south to Gdańsk in the north of Poland).

The biggest historical attraction of the city is the monastery, Jasna Góra.

The Championships will be held in Akademickie Centrum Sportowe (Academic Sports Centre) at the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa. The Championships will be played on blue Butterfly tables and with three-star white Butterfly balls. Dimensions of the main arena of the competition: length 48 m, width 30 m, height 13 m.
